Yes it is finally here, we have been swamped with requests to train a new class of addiction coaches in the “attraction methods program”. People that have successfully recovered from alcohol and or substance abuse enjoy sharing the principles that not only helped them to overcome addiction but gave them the vision of a glorious future.

In the recovery field there is nothing like getting mentored by someone that has “been there and done that!” The field of social work and counseling is full of folks that have overcome issues in their personal lives and have decided to give back to their fellow humans in distress. Our 12-week mentoring program will prepare you to coach and mentor people in various stages of overcoming. You will gain the knowledge and tools to assist a family, friend or employer to arrange for professional intervention services to advanced vocational mentoring for the recovered individual. This program is limited to 18 serious and committed registrants. The instructor is Daniel “Dan” Callahan, LMSW.

Dan is an effective trainer of trainers. His training experience includes various train-the-trainer curriculums for the NYS Office of Mental Health. He has his Masters Degree from Fordham University. He is an expert on the SelfGrowth.com network and is a master of Earl Nightingales, “Lead the Field” training program.

Dan’s methods and techniques are the basis for the Last Resort Panama’s Recovery Center. The curriculum entails the basics of addiction, substance abuse prevention, Bio/Psycho/Social Factors in Addiction, intervention, rehabilitation vs. recovery, The Law of Attraction, What is strengths based practice, mentorship, facilitation techniques and medical & social treatment models.

This is an alternative training to the traditional medical model of treatment. This is not certification training for State Certified Addictions Counselors. Typically, States require that a person who is giving addiction counseling be certified or licensed. If you want to work in a school as a substance abuse counselor then you are required to be licensed.

While certification for addiction counseling is mandatory in most situations, the specific requirement for licensing varies between states, cities and even employers. Most have set a bachelor's degree as the minimum expectation but many expect those giving addiction and substance abuse counseling to have achieved a master's degree.

Universities on average charge students $4,000 per semester. Hazelden charges $10.75 per hour and the course is 1,096 hours, over $11,000 for the course.
