Treatment at The Last Resort Panama emphasizes the individual. An individualized self-direction plan for living a productive and joyous life is developed with each resident. Specialized itineraries are designed with the participant to meet the diverse needs of all participants seeking drug and alcohol treatment. Sitting in a group therapy session is not our way of doing things. At The Last Resort Panama, you get individual attention, we help you develop the necessary skills you need to strengthen your recovery from addiction.

Alcohol or Drug Treatment Philosophy

Drug and alcohol treatment at The Last Resort Panama is a conduit in the recovery process. We encourage self directed decision making for the recovering person. We are here to facilitate a constructive recovery process with the individual. We believe that addiction is a primary, progressive, chronic and terminal disease. We believe that positive drug and alcohol recovery is characterized by a memorable, dynamic facilitation program that places an emphasis on life challenges and compassionate regard to enhance the individual's motivation to change and embrace lasting recovery.

The Last Resort Panama believes in the self-help approach to recovery. The drug and alcohol treatment program consists of educational, psychological, emotional, social, physical, vocational and spiritual components. We believe that addressing all of the individuals needs is key to success. This approach has outstanding results especially when coupled with a participant that is eager to break free of the bondage of addiction.

Treatment Attendance

We are pleased to welcome individuals of either gender, 18 years of age or older. Each participant should complete a physical examination by a primary care physician and obtain a release to participate in all activities. Here is a more complete section on the treatment admission criteria.

When appropriate, medical detoxification must take place prior to entrance. A psychological history for persons afflicted with "Dual Diagnosis" must be provided and residents must be reasonably stable at the time of entry.
